How To Add New Users to Your Company’s GMB and Other Platforms

Digital Marketing for Small Business: Add Value and Increase ROI

From generating leads, to increasing brand awareness, to engaging and initiating customer interactions and more, the right digital marketing agency can add value and dramatically increase ROI. However, in order for a digital marketing agency to properly do its job, the agency needs admin-level access to all of your company’s online properties. When you bring an agency onboard, be ready to grant access to your domains, hosting & servers, WordPress and other website building platforms, social media profiles, Google My Business and other Google accounts.

Facebook – Editor, Admin, and Other Page Roles Explained

  • Admin – Admin access is the highest level of access on a Facebook page. Admins can assign page roles, create and manage ads, post status updates, and make changes to page info and items like profile and banner images. Admins also have access to analytics and demographic information, and other Facebook insights.
  • Editor – An editor has the same rights as an admin, without the ability to add or edit page roles. Editors can post, respond to comments, create and launch ads, access page insights, and more.
  • Moderator – Moderators have the ability to manage post comments, and respond to individual comments on a given post. Moderators cannot post status updates, nor can they create ads or access insights.
  • Advertiser – Advertisers are limited to creating and optimizing Facebook ad campaigns and specific ad groups within the Facebook ads manager. Advertisers cannot post status updates, images, or comments.
  • Analyst – Analysts have total access to Facebook page metrics and insights, but cannot make any changes–neither posts, comments, new ads, ad optimizations, or any other changes to a page or the information contained therein.
  • Jobs Manager – If your organization has specific employee that’s in charge of hiring and Human Resources, the Jobs Manager is the position for them. Jobs Manager cannot post status updates or comment/respond to comments, but may create ads and new job/gig offerings on your company’s Facebook page.

How to Share Your Domain and NameServer Credentials – GoDaddy, Google Domains, DreamHost

Your Domain Host is the Digital Marketing for Small Businesses service that manages your domain name or URL, such as example.com. Domain Hosts use Domain Name System (DNS) records to connect your domain name with email, websites, and other web services. Those credentials include:

  • Name of Your Domain Provider (GoDaddy, Google Domains, etc)
  • Username
  • Password

How to Share Your Hosting & Server Credentials – SiteGround, BlueHost, Digital Ocean

There are two ways to grant server/hosting access. One is by granting “Collaborator Access,” the other is to simply share your Admin level server/hosting login credentials. For the highest level of access, supply your new Admin with

  • Hosting Company Name (BlueHost, Siteground, GoDaddy, etc)
  • Username or email login
  • Password

How to Add A New User Through the Backend of WordPress

WordPress is the platform that 99% of the websites on the internet are created in. WordPress access can be attained at the server-level, but the most common way to access your website’s WordPress “backend” is by typing your website’s URL and then adding /wp-admin onto the end of the address. 1. Login to your site’s backend at www.mywebsite.com/wp-admin
  2. Enter your Username
  3. Enter your Password
  4. Go to the Dashboard on the lefthand side of the screen
  5. Go to Users
  6. Click “Add New User” ?➕
  7. Enter the username, email address, and a temporary password
  8. Click “Update” or “Publish” or “Save” at the bottom of the screen
  9. Send these new credentials to the person(s) that will be using them

Ask Your Sales Rep: Ehlen Analytics Offers Web Hosting As Part of Premiere Web Services

“Ehlen Analytics started offering hosting services because we were tired of our clients sharing servers, and therefore bandwidth, with data hogs like online games, file sharing servers, video hosts, and things like that. We decided that our customers deserved the best hosting money can buy, and that meant we needed to buy our own servers. Hosting our clients’ websites is a no-brainer for us. We want to give the best service, hands-down. Hosting our clients is just one of the ways we accomplish that.”

— Daniel Ehlen, CEO of Ehlen Analytics
